Graduation celebrations in the sunshine
The Academy enjoyed its biggest celebrations to date, both inside and outside the Piano Building, when students and staff came together at a graduation awards ceremony.
Learners from each curriculum area and from the Saturday Junior Academy received certificates and awards at the event hosted by Free Radio's Adam Wilbourn.
Jasmine Plummer was named The Academy's Student of the Year in recognition of the progress she has made on her Samsung Experience Apps Design and Development course.
"I'm really happy to have been chosen for the award," said Jasmine, who hopes to pursue a career as a web developer."My course has been both good and challenging. "I'd studied ICT before signing up for this course so I've now got even more knowledge and experience to be able to get where I want to be."
Curriculum students of the year were also recognised at the ceremony. These were Lisa Stokes (Fashion, Retail and Visual Merchandising), Deanna Murphy (Hospitality and Culinary Arts), Hannah Sado (Media and Live Production) and Abigail Booth (Business and Entrepreneurship). The winners said that the highlights of their time at Kidderminster Academy so far included the experience of working on different projects, organising and helping out at events and studying with different people.
Congratulations to all students on their fantastic success.
