Apprenticeships
Employed Apprentices will get paid by their employer; it is often no less than other new entrants to work. That's a pretty good deal, considering that your employer is also investing their time in your future. Like any other employee, you will be liable for National insurance and Income Tax.
The full-time programmes offered are aimed at learners who need to improve their qualifications so they can progress into employment or onto a full Apprenticeship programme. The courses available to study all meet local employers’ needs so students will gain the skills they need to progress in their chosen careers.
Students will be provided with vocational knowledge and gain qualifications in their chosen areas. Work placement taster sessions will be provided for many of the pre-apprenticeship programmes. Students will also be given the opportunity to develop personal and social skills and to improve their Literacy and Numeracy levels.
The pre-apprenticeship programmes are designed to give learners a genuine taste of what it is like to work in a specific industry, and a practical approach will be taken to learning.
