Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirement to study for a Level 3 Diploma is 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including Mathematics and/or English or equivalent, according to the requirements of the curriculum area, a Higher Diploma OR Merit grade and above at Level 2.
Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirement to study for a Level 2 Diploma is 4 GCSEs at grade Ds or above which may include Mathematics and/or English, according to the requirements of the curriculum area, a Foundation Diploma, OR Merit grade and above at Level 1. Learners with a Pass grade will be considered subject to an additional assessment and/or supportive reference from their Personal Tutor.
The UK has traditionally been a major hub of video game development. Microsoft Xbox, EA, Activision, Sega, Atari, Ubisoft, Sony Computer Entertainment, Rockstar / Take Two, Codemasters, Nintendo all have a significant presence. Many of the best games companies started in the UK. The industry is big business and there is a continuing shortage of skilled staff.
More than 42,000 people work in the UK games industry and it is the third largest in the world in terms of developer success and sales of hardware and software. This is a significant industry that has seen huge growth over the last 30 years.
The courses offered at the Academy have been developed to give students a good understanding of the digital gaming industry, and to give them the skills they will need for employment in this exciting area.
Our dedicated digital games design and development laboratories are equipped with specialist gaming hardware and software which are used in the industry. Students will have access to a full range of desktop applications and virtual learning environments.

Throughout their studies in the Academy, students courses will have access to some of the gaming industry’s biggest influencers and current gaming experts. The course are suitable for students who are interested in wanting to become a games designer or 3D modeller, web designer and this could the first stage in realising a career in a variety of fields within the creative industries.
