Advanced Software Application Development for Smart Devices (BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Information Technology)

The Samsung Experience Academy will provide students with a once in a life time opportunity to start a career in software development and application (apps) development in the state of the art academy in Kidderminster. You will have access to the latest Smart TVs and Smart hand held devices using the Android application and the knowledge that all lecturers will have close links with industry through the Samsung network of software developers. The two year course explains how to get started with developing applications for Samsung SMART Technologies by introducing basic concepts, the application development process, and the Software Development Kit (SDK).

By the end of your Level 3 course you will be able to successfully write Android applications and have an excellent understanding of software development. You will have developed a sound understanding that will enable you to seek employment through the Samsung Software developer’s network of employers, progress on to university or a higher Apprenticeship programme. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their application in a real life in front of a panel of industry experts
• Learn to develop ‘apps’ using the Android Software Development kit alongside other software development tools. You will learn to create simple applications throughout this Software application development course.
• This is a hands-on software development course which encourages learning through constantly instilling better building and designing skills in students by making them develop progressively more sophisticated applications for Smart hand held devices.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
4 GCSEs at grade C, to include English and Mathematics at grade D or above as a minimum, plus a course interview.
