BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Retail
This one year course will introduce students to the retail sector. It will provide opportunities to develop knowledge, understanding and skills to a national occupation level required by employers. Students will develop a clear understanding of this sector through project-based work and commercial experience in our state of the art retail environment, at the newly refurbished Piano Building. Key areas of knowledge and skills development are:
• Visual Merchandising
• Customer Service Development
• Stock Organisation
• Health and Safety
• Payment Point Support
Delivery will be through Project-based work and hands-on experience. Assessment will be continual throughout the programme with review points to check and track progress.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D or above which may include
Mathematics and/or English or a equivalent qualification.
Progression/Employment Opportunities
Students who successfully achieve the full Level 2 qualification will be able to progress to advanced level study or into employment in retail to work as Retail Assistants or Retail Merchandisers. Alternatively, progression is available onto Level 3 Retail qualifications that offer specialist pathways in: Visual Merchandiser, Sales Professional or Retail Management
