Level 3 Diploma in Retail and Visual Merchandising
This course will develop students’ knowledge, understanding and skills to a national occupation level for the retail sector. Retail is a rapidly evolving industry and level 3 students will be instrumental in developing how retail transforms itself to meet new consumer demand. Students will explore the future of Retail through project-based work and commercial experience in our state of the art retail environment, at the newly refurbished Piano Building. Key areas of knowledge and skills development are:
• Concept development in Visual Merchandising
• Customer Service Development
• Stock Management
• Creating a Health and Safety –focused environment
• Payment Point and Staff Management
Delivery will be through Project-based work and hands-on experience. Assessment will be continual throughout the programme with review points to check and track progress.
Entry Requirements
Students will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including Mathematics and/or English or equivalent, or Merit grade and above at Level 2. Students with a Pass grade will be considered subject to an additional assessment and/or supportive reference.
Progression/Employment Opportunities
Successful students may apply to progress into industry as a Senior Sales Assistant (includes visual merchandising) or Craft Expert or Style advisor. Alternatively, progression is available onto Higher Level Retail qualifications such as a Degree in Retail Management
